Jéssica Ilfu-Soi is a Lisbon-based artist born in Angola, with Cape Verdean and Macanese heritage. Her work explores the connection between the spiritual and physical realms, channeling the essence of her diverse background into unique, handcrafted sculptures. Through her art, she evokes the divine feminine, the cycles of life and decay, and the richness of natural landscapes and bodies—drawing from the sea, rock formations, and the transformative processes of fragmentation and erosion as metaphors for life’s ever-shifting dynamics.
Working with raw, often-overlooked materials, Jéssica develops a visceral bond with her mediums, embracing their intrinsic qualities. Each sculpture is singular, thoughtfully shaped by hand into organic, fluid forms through an intuitive and immersive process.
Her creations exist at the merging of the tangible and the ethereal, infused with ancestral imagery that bridges past and present. In this dialogue across generations, Jéssica’s work becomes both a celebration of identity and a journey of self-discovery—an enduring testament to creativity’s power to express the endless nuances of the human experience.
